Day 6 - Your Senses Right Now

See
I see my three boys, two watching tv and one on his laptop.  And of course I see my laptop. :-)

Taste
My cup of tea.  I love tea and can drink it hot or cold.  My current cup is slightly warm.

Touch
I can feel the touch of the keys on my keyboard.  The duvet over me and the leatherette of my sofa on my feet.

Hear
I can here the Little Einstein's that is on the tv.  And the occasional beeping of the dishwasher telling me that it's finished.

Smell
I can't smell anything at the moment.

Day 5 - 10 Songs You Love Right Now

Ok, this is quite a hard one for me as I don't really get the chance to listen to music other than in the car.  I'm guessing the theme tunes to Disney Jr/Nick Jr don't count eh?  Some of these are going to end up being quite old songs, as that's what I listen to most.

The first one is a fairly recent one though.

Pink - Raise your Glass.  I love Pink and I love to sing along to her.  This is a real get up and dance along song and I love that.

Next has to be a Take That song.  I love Take That.  I loved them when they were first out and I was a teenager and I love them even more now.  They were my first ever pop concert 4 years ago and I was pregnant with Aled at the time.  I have now seen them 4 times, twice on they're last tour!

My all time favourite TT song has to be Babe.  It's one of those that is so easy to sing along to, but I think my number two song will be this one:

Here is 3-9 (in no particular order as they say on X-Factor) :-

3 - Maybe Tomorrow by Stereophonics on Grooveshark
4 - Gave It All Away by Boyzone on Grooveshark
5 - Sewn by The Feeling on Grooveshark
6 - Nobodys Perfect by Jessie J on Grooveshark
7 - Superman Tonight by Bon Jovi on Grooveshark
8 - Gives You Hell by Glee on Grooveshark
9 - Alanis Morrisette - One Hand In My Pocket by Alanis Morissette on Grooveshark

Lastly I think I have to include my little ones favourite band.  Number 10 is the Neverland Pirates, Roll up the Map.

What's your Top 10?

Something a little bit crafty

At the beginning of term a few weeks ago Aled came home with a nursery newsletter advising me that they will be doing P.E. this term and he needs to bring shorts and a t-shirt in every Monday.  Now Aled already has a bag that is used for his spare change of clothes, but I thought it would be nice for him to have his own P.E. bag.

Tonight, I finally got around to making it.  Using this tutorial, I got to work.  I decided that I wanted a different coloured panel through the middle and this will (maybe) have his name appliquéd onto it.  I also decided that I wanted him to be able to wear the bag like a backpack, so added grosgrain ribbon tabs at the bottom to feed the drawstring through.  I am rather proud of myself, as this is the first bag that I have taken on by myself without needing my mum to take over!  I did run into some trouble with the 'tunnel' for the cord and ended up unpicking and restarting a few times, but all in all, it's not a bad try I think.

Hopefully I will get a photo of Aled wearing the bag, I am hoping it fits round his shoulders, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.  In the meantime, here is the finished article.

Day 4 - What are you afraid of?

On a trip into London one day last year, my sister asked me if there's anything that I'm not afraid of!  I think she may have a point.  As I have gotten older, I find myself more afraid of things.  I remember telling my mum this once and she said that she was the same.  Her theory is that as we get older we are more aware of the dangers and therefore are more afraid of things.

So, here goes:-

I hate spiders and any creepy crawlies really.  Especially ants, they really freak me out!

Behind the smile, my heart was racing
being so near to the edge!
I am afraid of heights.  Actually, I don't think it's heights as such, more a fear of falling.  I'm ok(ish) in a high place, but I can't be anywhere near the edge and I don't feel safe on things that look like they might break. My sister Helen got married on Table Mountain in South Africa and although it was a beautiful surrounding, I was rather apprehensive of the wooden ledge that we were stood on and wouldn't go anywhere near the edge! I was fine on a different part of the mountain where there was a high wall and I really loved looking at the view, but on the bit where the ceremony was held, I was terrified!

Even small heights get me.  If my feet aren't firmly on the ground, then I panic.  Ladders, steps with gaps in them, escalators, anything like that and I'm a nervous wreck.

Other things that I'm afraid of include through running trains when I'm at the train station, the Tube (subway) - I hate how fast you have to be to get on and off and with through running tubes I am gripping anything I can!  I remember last year I went to the watch the Royal Wedding at The Mall with our Explorer Scouts and on the tube back I refused to get on as the 'door closing' notice was being said.  I have a great set of Explorers and leaders though, when I got onto the next one, they all piled aboard at the next station where they had waited for me.

I hate crowds, I think I have a touch of claustrophobia as I panic when I'm in an overcrowded place.  Not being able to breath 'fresh' air, as in I can't have anything over my face.  Hubby will quite happily have the duvet completely over him in bed, I hate that as it doesn't feel that I am breathing in fresh air.

Lastly, my biggest fear, and probably the same one that every parent has - something bad happening to my children.

Day 3 - Your Favourite Quote

This is a hard one for me as I don't really *do* quotes, but this caught my eye on Pintrest a while ago and I just love it. (And not just because it's from Harry Potter! lol).  The words ring so true.
