#31DayMarch - Days 22 & 23

Day 22: What Do You Do When You're Home All Alone?

Well, as a working wife and mother, this is a very rare occurrence   I am often on my own in the evenings with the kids in bed and hubby has gone out.  Does that count?

On those evenings (usually once a week), I will catch up on my soaps.  I tend to record them during the week and try to catch up on a Friday night and over the weekend.

Before I started working full time, I would get a couple of hours to myself each morning while Noah was at nursery.  Those mornings were filled with doing any errands that I were harder do while having the boys under my feet, such as the weekly shopping or doing the dishes!

Day 23: Do You Have A Hobby?

I guess technically I do.  I obviously write my blog, which can be put down as a hobby.  I also love to read.  I am taking part in a #50Books2013 reading challenge through Goodreads and with Mama Owl.  I've gotten a bit slack with my reading and have only just finished my 7th book of the year!  I really need to sort that out if I want to hit my target of 50 by the end of the year!  I am also logging my reading progress with a short book review on my other blog.

As well as the blogging, reading and of course watching soaps on tv, I play darts on a weekly basis. I play for a local women's team.  For us, it's more about getting out once a week and having a laugh.  If we win, then it's a bonus!  I'm not a great player, but I was pretty pleased with myself when I scored 100 with 3 darts on Tuesday!  I just need to work on my adding up now for when I have to do the scores.  We're not allowed to use calculators, so it has to be done in your head, which I really struggle with!

The wanderer has returned....

Hello there!!  It's been a while hasn't it!  I can't believe it's been over 3 weeks since I last blogged!  I'm sure you are all wondering what I have been up to.

Well, to be honest, not much really.  I have been totally engrossed in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy and almost everything else got put on the back burner.  Even my mother had to call me up to check if I was ok as I hadn't posted on facebook for a while! lol.


I have to say, I have loved the books and found myself hooked almost straight away.  I know alot of people hate them and find the writing awful and repetitive, but although yes, it is a bit repetitive, I didn't find it that bad.  No worse than say The Vampire Diaries books or alot of other 'chick lit' books that I have read.  I'm going to be honest and say that I find reading a trashy chick lit book like this much easier to read than a well written classic such as Jane Eyre.  I have tried to read Jane Eyre, but so far haven't been able to get as far as Chapter 5!


Other than the books, I have also got myself a new tattoo.  I already had a tattoo of the boys names on my inside wrist, but felt that it was a bit plain, so I got a design added on to it.  It has almost finished healing and I am really happy with it.  I am already planning my next tattoo!

I am doing pretty well at darts and have won a fair few of my games!  I am really quite please with myself at that.  I never thought I was very good and although I am still not fantastic, I am holding my own in my games (well apart from the week before last when I couldn't score more than 35 on each turn! lol). :-)

In other news, I am planning a girls night out in a couple of weeks.  I am a little disappointed with the lack of uptake from my friends, but so far there is me, my upstairs neighbour and possibly my little sister going out.  I am really looking forward to having a night out and in desperate need of letting my hair down.  My outfit is pretty much sorted and I have *finally* made a start on the handbag I have been planning to make with some gorgeous 'tea for two' fabric that I bought a few weeks ago.  I am hoping to finish the bag tonight, so hopefully will be able to post about it tomorrow.

Well, there you go, that is what I have been up to in the last few weeks.  Hopefully I will get my blogging mojo back and will be back much more often this month!
